What Tefilla do you say
before taking a bath?
The Gemoro (Brachos 60a) and
in Shulchan Aruch
(O.Ch. 230:3) says
"Before taking a bath one should
say יר"מ
ה' אלוקי שתכניסני לשלום ותוציאני לשלום
ותצילני מהאור הזה וכיוצא בו לעתיד לבא
The Mishna Verurah says The
reason we don't say
this Tefila anymore is
because originally the fire to heat
the water was directly
beneath the bathtub. There was
a danger for the tub to crack
open and to fall into the fire.
Today the fire is placed
on the side of the tub. There is
no more such a danger.
