The only thing we know about them - They were Chasidim.
The Gemoro (Ta'anis 18b) says, "it is written in
Megilas Ta'anis not to fast or say Hespeidim on the 12th
of Adar that
day is called "יום טריינוס"
Before Treinus killed
two Tzadikim (לולינוס& פפוס) who were Moser Nefesh for Klal Yisroel.
They told him that HKBH. will take revenge and kill him if he kills them. Treinus ignored them, and went ahead and killed them.
Immediately
afterward two Roman Diplomats cracked open the head of
Treinus and killed him. Therefore we celebrate
this day.
The Gemoro says that later on
they were מבטל the יום טריינוס because of the two brothers, שמעיה & אחיה were killed on
the 12th of Adar.
Rashi says we have no details what
happened to them or who they were except that they were Chasidim.
Hence, because of the two brothers Chasidim
we don't celebrate יום טריינוס and fasting & Hespeidim is
permitted.
