Herring & Cholent stains

זה אלי ואנוהו- התנאה לפניו במצות - טלית [ציצית] נאה* According to the Girsa of טלית נאה, by wearing a dirty or stained טלית, you are עובר on זה אלי ואנוהו. Perhaps, a dirty or stained טלית קטן worn under the shirt, won't be a problem. שרטוט (engraving lines on the parchment) on Tefillin is not a הלכה למשה מסיני The only reason to do it would be because of זה אלי ואנוהו (neat writing)** Since the text of the Tefillin is hidden there is no ואנוהו and שרטוט is not necessary. Here as well since the טלית קטן is hidden there is no ואנוהו. However, those who wear a stained טלית קטן on top of the shirt or wearing a טלית גדול, with herring & Cholent stains etc. they are עובר the Mitzvah of התנאה לפניו במצות - טלית נאה *Shabbos 133b **Tosfos Menachos 32b (הא מורידין) ......................................................................................................................................... WHOEVER SAID, CHASIDIM DON'T FOLLOW THE שלחן ערוך? The Mechaber (Shulchan Aruch O.Ch.8:11) writes, "The עיקר מצוה of טלית קטן is to be worn on top of the clothing so it will be seen at all times and remember the Mitzvos". The Magen Avraham quotes from the Kesavim (Kisvei Arizal) not to do so but to wear it underneath the clothing.                           עולם הפוך אני רואה  Most Chasidim* wear the טלית קטן on their shirt (Shulchan Aruch) Non-Chasidim wear the טלית קטן under the shirt (Arizal-Kabbala) *except Chabad
